On 1 January 2017 the museums, the monuments and the state archaeological areas will be open free of charge thanks to the initiative #Domenicalmuseo.

In Florence among the many sites participating in the initiative there are Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Galleria degli Uffizi, Cappelle Medicee, Galleria dell'Accademia, Cenacolo di Ognissanti, Giardino di Villa il Ventaglio, Villa della Petraia, Villa Corsini a Castello.
